April Meeting

A meeting of Big Sky Beekeepers was held on Tuesday, April 12 in the conference room at  Westside Lanes.  Dan Mayer was our guest speaker.  Dan is a longtime beekeeper and a resident of Hamilton Montana.  He is also a longstanding member of Beekeepers of the Bitterroot.  Dan and his wife Connie own and operate the “Bee Happy Honey Farm” in Hamilton and Sun Lakes Arizona.  They offer their products for sale at the area Farmers Markets and at the annual Ravalli County Fair.  Dan discussed the Hopkins method of rearing queens that he has used successfully for many years.  Attendance was high and we all learned from Dan's experience.  A copy of his handout is attached.
