Big Sky Beekeepers

is a beekeeping club, established in Missoula, Montana in 2011. The club was created to serve as a resource to local beekeepers, to educate club members and the community about the science, art, and benefits of beekeeping, and to foster communication and co-operation between beekeepers and the community at large. We welcome area beekeepers and anyone interested in honeybees and beekeeping.

A meeting of Big Sky Beekeepers will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 21 in the conference room at Westside Lanes, 1615 Wyoming Street in Missoula. Please note that this meeting is being held a week later than usual due to meeting room availability. We will be talking about how to prepare your hives for the long Montana winter.

It is time to feed any hives that need to increase their honey stores before winter sets in. Here are a couple of easy recipes for preparing sugar syrup. A sugar to water ratio of 2:1 is most commonly used for fall feeding.
